How does RenderBoost^TM work?

The Progeniq RenderBoost^TM accelerator is a standard PCI-e card that fits easily into expansion slots of almost all modern rack servers. It was built to address 3 challenges faced by animation studios worldwide:

The need to significantly increase computational capacity available, in the most cost effective manner.
The need to increase performance of an existing render farm that is bound by space and power consumption constraints.
The need to offload standard rendering processes so that more CPU time is freed up for other applications and uses.

RenderBoost^TM has accelerated rendering on average between 4 times to 8 times depending on scene complexity and type, reducing the time taken from 1 hour to only 7 minutes per frame. On a single machine, this equates to rendering over 200 frames in a day against only 24 frames before acceleration.
